===================================================================== Half-Life Map Spec Sheet ===================================================================== ------General Information-------------------------------------------- Title :Snark Lab Author :"Vankor" (Neil Winslow) Author Email :Vankor@juno.com Date : 6-29-1999 Home page :none Description :A Snark test base, the scientists have been experimenting with the xeno lifeforms, and have tried using the trusty snark as a security measure to stop intruders. Hallways connecting rooms have been designed to fit the snarks attack pattern, and to lead the unwelcome away from important technological tools and resources. Previous Maps :Discordia, Scurry ------Credits and Thanks--------------------------------------------- Many thanks to Wavelength and The Half-Life Editing Resource center for being such great and helpful sites, my friends and brother for playtesting, Valve for making Half-Life (despite the annoying bugs still in it!), and Radium for being a great review site. ------Additional Info, Tips, and Notes------------------------------- This is my third level, and while it may not have the originality of Scurry, I do think it's my best level yet. When I first began making the level I had something completely different in mind, but then my imagination kicked in, and "Snarklab" began it's creation. The whole level itself is not terribly big, but there should be enough room for a fair amount of people. Every weapon is featured on the level, but the mainstay by far is... you guessed it, snarks. There are blue chamber pods on the level, which can be used as recharge stations. Originally I wanted a sort of conveyor to make it look like snarks are being transported from place to place, but unfortunately I couldn't get anything to work so I decided to scrap the idea, rather than make some chintsy looking thing. Some of the architecture in a couple rooms is "inspired" by the architecture in the single player game (which I should get off my ass and finish!!). Got somethin' to say!(even though no one reads these...) E-Mail me!!!! ------Play Information----------------------------------------------- Deathmatch :yes Single Player :no Map Description :A tad 2-dimensional in it's layout, but that's mostly to give the snarks an easy time chasing the players to their doom. The snarks are released by a switch in the top rung of the central silo room, flooding all other rooms with a wave of snarky wonder. How Many Players:4-10? maybe more, I can never tell because I can never get enough people to playtest ------Map Information------------------------------------------------ New Textures :none New Sounds :none ------Construction--------------------------------------------------- Base :from scratch Editor(s) used :worldcraft 2.1 Compile Machine :AMD K6-2 420, 128 meg ram Compile time :2 weeks build, 2000 seconds compile(strangely, shorter on expert than normal!)
